What issues do people attend mediation for?

 What is the mediator’s role?

The mediator’s role is to facilitate a discussion between the persons involved in the dispute. Through skilled questioning, reflection and active listening, the mediator will allow you all to think about potential remedies and move closer towards an agreement.

Access Mediation Services’ team of expert mediators have a range of skills from their previous backgrounds that enables them to provide you with well-rounded information. They include law, coaching, facilitation, mentoring, counselling, training and equality & diversity.

All of our mediators are trained to the highest standards in their specific mediation field and are regulated by the College of Mediators.

Why should I try mediation?

Mediation is a type of dispute resolution which helps parties to reach a mutual agreement on a specific issue/issues. Our Mediation Centres enable calm discussion where all participants can explore their opinions and feelings without being judged. The mediator is impartial. From our experience, we have found that mediation works in most instances. It is cheaper, faster and less inflammatory than most other resolution methods, so will enable you to reach a solution quickly.

We have many mediation centres across England and Wales and if we don’t have a centre near you, we can arrange an alternative venue to hold your mediation. We also have the option of Online Mediation and Telephone Mediation.
